Harmonization of waste management concepts from eight BFI locations

Project description

Based on the survey on the current situation of the internal waste management of the technical training locations of the BFI Steiermark, suggestions for improvement were worked out. The most important improvement proposal in this regard is the creation of waste management concepts for all locations by a designated waste representative. A guide to create a waste management concept for each site was developed.

Furthermore, recommendations for action regarding waste prevention and reuse, source sorting of waste (sorting of waste already at its place of origin), storage and disposal are given.

Ultimately, the recommendation was followed by indicators for comparing the locations in order to be able to compare the waste management situation of the individual locations (volume and cost index).
