Quality label (e.g. for recycling rate) in the field of Circular Economy - concept and market potential assessment

Project description

The scope of the project RecRate is the assessment of the market potential and the concept creation regarding an ecolabel in the field of circular economy as addressed in the Circular Economy Package of the EU.

To determine this the following steps have been carried out:

1. Research regarding the measures concerning ecodesign and recyclability etc. specified in the Circular Economy Package (CEP) and evaluation of their impact on a potential ecolabel. Input concerning the evaluation subject and its content.
2. Research regarding already existing ecolabels on the market.
3. Interview-based survey of known contacts of TÜV SÜD and contractor including questioning at events.
4. Specification of a questionnaire, a list of potential interview candidates as well as a product description and a product price range based on the carried out research. Questionaire-based survey of experts from companies who could be interested in circular economy ecolabels.
5. Analysis and interpretation of the survey results.

Aims of the project

The aim is to assess the feasibility if an evaluation/certification for a yet to be exactly specified product or product group in the field of plastics regarding its recycling rate or similar parameters in the form of an ecolabel could be a potential business segment for TÜV SÜD.
