Innovations in the waste collection of the district Graz-Umgebung
Project description
As part of the project InCol (innovations in waste collection), ideas for innovations in waste collection were proposed, developed and discussed during six workshops from February to September 2018. This resulted in a concept that provides three measures to achieve the goals of reducing residual waste and ensuring the satisfaction of the general public, and to document their effect by means of a before-after data acquisition.
The aims are:
- Personalized waste disposal in multi-party residential buildings
- PAYT (Pay As You Throw) fee system instead of a largely flat-rate system
- Intensification of the communication from collecting staff to the citizen
All measures are preceded by a specific assessment of the situation in order to be able to examine the effects retroactively in comparison to the time before the measure.
Residual waste, paper and organic waste
Aims of the project
- Implementation of innovations for waste collection in the district Graz-Umgebung
- Reduction of residual waste
- Ensuring the satisfaction of the population with waste management
