AKRosAII
Project long title
Processing of critical raw materials from specific waste streams
Project description
A consortium of enterprises and universities has merged to develop innovative approaches und fundamentals for processing and recovery of certain critical raw materials from defined Austrian waste streams. These are:
- Waste streams of waste treatment plants,
- waste and by-products from special industrial processes and
- landfilled waste.
The three waste sources and the framework are shown in the figure below.
Waste sources / framework - AKRosA II
Aims of the project
- Identification, characterisation and quantification of relevant waste streams und by-products,
- visualisation and modelling of the system as well as a forecast of future critical raw material content,
- (further) development of processing and separating methods and sensor-based sorting of critical raw materials and
- production of metal concentrates and verification of their recyclability / suitability for metallurgical processes.
